Christopher Boni, DO: President and Co-Founder, Waves Of Health
Dr. Boni is a native of New Jersey and has spent his life chasing waves on the Jersey Shore. Not only is he a good surfer, but also a respected Internist. He has a
private practice and a wonderful family and manages to successfully distribute himself between the two. Dr. Boni is a co-founder of Waves of Health.
Always humble, with a classic New Jersey cynicism and a “Do or Die Attitude”, Chris Boni
has served as the President of the Waves of Health.
Humberto Jimenez, PharmD: Vice President
Dr. Jimenez is an Infectious Disease Pharmacotherapy Specialist at
Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. Dr Jimenez was quick to join the Waves of Health team. Dr. Jimenez is the “Go-to-guy” for the Waves of Health. He is the driving force behind the acquisition of pharmaceuticals and is exceptionally resourceful in his methods. His quick wit and broad smile make him an instant favorite.htcolumn_secondarypages">
Anna Marie Matos, RN, APNc: Secretary
Ms. Matos is a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult Health. Her commitment to quality patient care in underserved areas has earned her great respect and acclaim in our circles.
Marsil Suriel: Treasurer
A college roommate of Humberto Jimenez, Marsil was recruited to provide
translation services during the early days of The Waves of Health.
While facilitating patient care he realized a true passion for
delivering adequate health care.
Robert Cumins: Documentary Photographer
Mr. Cumins is a professional photographer of international acclaim. He was recruited to document the first Waves of Health mission and uncovered a passion for this organization in the process. Mr. Cumins has captured some truly inspiring images and is the driving force behind our media presence and recruitment.

Morgan Berk: Public Relations, Marketing, and Partnerships
Morgan Rae Berk has over 10 years experience both internationally + global in event marketing and Public Relations. She founded two action sports film event properties -
New York Surf Film Festival + Snow Film Fest NYC - and is a general event/marketing/PR consultant for mainstream brands including NBC, Mashable, Gotham Magazine, Nike, 2004 Greece Olympics and more. Her passion for surf - and the travel bug that comes along with it- has led her around the globe, observing firsthand the extent of medical care needed in third world countries.
Marcello Bonivini: Technical Director. Informatics
Mr. Bonivini’s big personality and caring soul made him and instant “must have” for The Waves of Health. He has managed to maintain our data collection systems and studies during some of the most difficult user unfriendly situations. He is incredibly resourceful in situations arising in developing countries where power is in limited supply and is always fun to have around.
Clayton Everline, MD: Co-founder, Director of Surf Projects
Dr. Everline is a cofounder and the conceptual force behind the Waves of Health. He is rising to become one of the leading authorities on surfing and water sport related injuries and keeps the “Wave” in “The Waves of Health.” He is active on the Pro-Surfing tour and
the co-author of "Surf Survival". He lives and works
with his wife in Hawaii.
Sonia Patel, PharmD: Director of Pharmacy
Dr. Patel is a Clinical Pharmacist practicing in New Jersey and an
Assistant Professor at Rutgers University. She was recruited to The Waves of Health as a pharmacy resident by Dr. Jimenez. During her missions, she discovered an unrecognized passion for travel medicine and the challenges of establishing medical and pharmaceutical care in developing regions of the world. Her personality and style always set the tone of the mission when she is in attendance and she is a regular fixture on our missions.
Jeremy Pinyard, MD, MSc: Director of Operations
Dr. Pinyard found himself in the line-up with Drs Boni and Everline when transplanted to the chilly Jersey coast line. Having spent most of his adult life traveling and surfing developing nations, he recognized the universal application and need for services provided by The Waves of Health. He was recruited and accepted the challenge of bringing Waves to new global regions.
Daniel Sheps, DO
Dr. Sheps is a former student of Dr. Boni. He was excited about the idea of The Waves of Health and eager to get involved from the beginning. He has piloted epidemiologic studies regarding Diabetes control in our patient populations.
Maria E. Suarez, RN
A Critical Care Nurse by profession, she has an innate talent to recognize, address, and treat any medical condition presented to her. Her spirit and generosity provide tremendous energy to drive The Waves of Health forward on their mission.
